This song references the movie and game Jumanji. It's a metaphor for feeling lost in a relationship just as one might in the game Jumanji: a game that is sometimes never won. It addresses insecurities and commitment issues; flaws which are often associated with relationships. This song is my personal favorite and I still feel nostalgic and sad when I listen to it.
lyrics
There aren't any rules, can’t cheat this time and look up the answer
And then I get antsy and prick into your skin like a sand spur
Jumanji baby, sucked into a game that's sometimes never won
Things aren't the way they used to be, the magic's dead, maybe gone
It's because of me, I've left you with no buttons left to press on
The pressure builds, fills you then spills, for it's you I depend upon
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m sucked in a game that’s sometimes never won
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m stuck in a game that’s never won
Impossible to have no home, I just want to break every lock
Wish I were a heartless bird that had no fear of fleeing the flock
It appears I've lost myself, wish I could really know who I am
A shame there's no one else to blame but me for fallin’ for a sham
Why'd I think it best to invest my life in the hands of a man?
I'm raging in desperate need to come up with some sort of plan
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m sucked in a game that’s sometimes never won
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m stuck in a game that’s never won
We're just holding each other back, from being off the beaten track
Gives us a panic attack, pushed passed the edge, about to crack
I'm not sane when I feel so-so, dumb doing what I do, don't go
Pin pokin' poco a poco, leaning on you I'm love loco
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m sucked in a game that’s sometimes never won
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m stuck in a game that’s never won
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m sucked in a game that’s sometimes never won
Jumanji baby, Jumanji baby, oh
Jumanji baby, I’m stuck in a game that’s never won
